- Pada 2010, nama Indonesia
harum di salah satu festival
musik 'bawah tanah' di Eropa.
Band beraliran grindcore asal
Indonesia, Noxa, mengibarkan
Merah-Putih di Obscene
Extreme Festival 2010. Lewat
musik dan syair-syairnya, Noxa
menghipnotis para pemuja
musik cadas pada festival musik
grindcore terbesar di dunia
tersebut.
Bahkan, CD kompilasi Obscene
Extreme Festival 2010 bertajuk
Silence Sucks! didedikasikan
untuk penggebuk drum
pertama Noxa, almarhum Robin
Hutagaol.
Setelah Robin wafat, Noxa kini
digawangi Tonny pada vokal,
Nyoman pada bass, Ade pada
gitar, dan Alvin pada drum. Aksi
Noxa mengusung Merah Putih
di dunia musik cadas
internasional bukan pertama
kali. Pada akhir Juni 2008, Noxa
menggila di Tuska Metal Fest
2008 yang digelar di Helsinki,
Finlandia. Konser tersebut
merupakan salah satu konser
musik beraliran metal terbesar
di kawasan Skandinavia.
Meski ditinggal Robin, Noxa
tetap unjuk gigi. Gitaris Noxa
Ade Hirmenio Adnis
menceritakan perjalanan
mereka 'merampok' hati para
pemuja musik grindcore di
Republik Cek pada Juli lalu.
Berikut ini kisahnya:
Tur Noxa 2010
Berawal dari saling bertukar
surat elektronik dengan pendiri
sekaligus pemilik label bernama
Obscene Record, Curby, Noxa
akhirnya diundang di acara
Obscene Extreme Festival 2010.
Saat itu, Curby meminta
informasi mengenai penggebuk
drum Noxa pertama, Robin
Hutagaol, yang wafat karena
kecelakaan sepeda motor pada
17 Januari 2009. Curby sendiri
merupakan pendiri label
rekaman Obscene Record yang
memiliki acara festival besar
tahunan Obscene Extreme
Festival.
Pada 2005 dan 2007, almarhum
Robin Hutagaol sudah pernah
berkunjung ke Obscene
Extreme Festival dan
mengajukan Noxa untuk bisa
tampil tampil di acara itu. CD
Noxa berisi album perdana dan
kedua juga sebelumnya pernah
pula dititip untuk dipromosikan
di Obscene Extreme Festival.
Setelah bertukar surat
elektronik dengan Curby,
akhirnya kami sesama anggota
Noxa rembukan untuk
menanggapi hal tersebut. Noxa
saat ini digawangi Ade (gitar),
Tonny (vocal), Dipa (bas), dan
Alvin (drum) sebagai pengganti
Robin (RIP). Dengan keputusan
bulat dan tekad yang kuat,
akhirnya kami sepakat untuk
memenuhi undangan tampil di
Obscene Extreme Festival 2010
yang lokasinya di Trutnov yaitu
bagian utara Republik Ceko,
Noxa juga melakukan tur dua
gigs lagi di Budejovice dan
Praha. Sehingga total Noxa
tampil tiga kali di tiga kota
Republik Cek.
Kami punya jadwal tiga kali
tampil di sana. Pertama, pada
13 Juli di Budejovice dengan
nama tempat Club Fabrika.
Jaraknya kira-kira 160 kilometer
atau tiga jam dari Praha ke arah
selatan Cek. Lalu 14 Juli di
Praha. Nama tempatnya Rock
Club Kain. Letaknya di kota
Praha zona 4, Dan terakhir
pada 15 Juli main di Obscene
Extreme Festival 2010. Lokasi
festival di Trutnov yang jaraknya
juga sekitar 2,5 jam ke arah
utara dari kota Praha.
Sebelum berangkat ke Republik
Cek, kita mendapat sokongan
dari teman-teman band asal
Jakarta. Ada sekitar 21 band
yang mendukung Noxa dalam
sebuah acara yang diberi nama
»All Of The Same Blood" yang
diadakan pada 27 Juni 2010 di
Bulungan Jakarta Selatan, Band
yang mendukung Noxa dan
tampil di acara tersebut berasal
dari berbagai genre mulai
brutal death metal, death
metal, progressive death metal,
thrash metal, hardcore,
metalcore dan juga punk,
Band yang tampil: Siksa Kubur,
Prosatanica, Paper Gangster,
Killed By Butterfly, Invictus,
Godzila, Thinking Straight,
Divine, Inlander, Gigantor,
Slimer, Disagree, The Borstal,
Tyranny, Fragment Of Machine,
People Shit, Traitor, Basterd,
dan Grievance. Kami dari Noxa
juga mengucapkan terima kasih
banyak atas dukungan kawan-
kawan sesama scene
underground yang mudah-
mudahan ke depannya kita bisa
makin bersatu dan lebih solid
lagi.
Tanggal 29 Juni kita sudah
mendapatkan visa untuk bisa
berangkat ke Republik Cek.
Akhirnya kita berangkat tanggal
11 Juli dinihari dengan tiket
yang sudah kita beli sekitar satu
bulan sebelum berangkat. Kami
tiba di Praha pada 11 Juli 2010
sore hari di Praha. Kami
disambut Karel (panitia pre-
OEF). Kita bermalam di
apartemen yang sudah
disediakan panitia.
Cuaca di sana ternyata sangat
panas. Suhu sekitar 39-40
Celsius, Menurut orang sana,
cuaca itu tidak biasa karena
biasanya suhu saat musim
panas hanya sekitar 15-20
Celsius. Mungkin karena saat ini
sedang pemanasan global, jadi
panasnya luar biasa pada saat
musim panas. Dan ini terjadi
juga di seluruh wilayah Eropa,
bukan di Republik Cek saja.
Pada 12 Juli 2010 sore, kami
langsung berkemas menuju
Budejovice. Kami hanya
membawa keperluan untuk
manggung saja. Beberapa
barang yang besar-besar kami
tinggal di apartemen karena
kita akan balik lagi 14 Juli dan
bermalam di apartemen yang
sama. Di Budejovice, kami
ditemani Rob, panitia dari pre-
OEF. Rob merupakan gitaris
band grindcore asal Cek,
Ingrowing, dan band hardcore
Locomotive. Orangnya sangat
menyenangkan. Kita diajak
makan malam bersama beliau
di City Centre Budejovice dan
bermalam di apartemen yang
sudah disiapkan panitia juga.
Pada 13 Juli 2010 sore, kami
bersama Rob menuju venue
tempat acara untuk manggung
di hari pertama. Di venue kita
pun melakukan sedikit latihan
karena kita sudah lama enggak
pemanasan sekalian check
sound. Setelah selesai setting
instrument, sound system, dan
sedikit latihan, kita pun setting
tempat untuk menjual
merchandise. Letaknya di dekat
pintu masuk tempat acara.
Noxa main di urutan ketiga di
acara tersebut dengan urutan
band pada saat itu yaitu band
crust-punk lokal dari
Budejovice, lalu band crust-
grind asal Prancis
»Whoresnation", kemudian
Noxa, dan terakhir Xaros band
crust-grind asal Prancis juga.
Noxa tampil dengan sukses.
Pengunjung yang membeli tiket
dari data panitia berjumlah
sekitar 80 orang di mana MC
Fabrika ini adalah pub kecil
yang berkapasitas 100 orang.
Acara berjalan dengan lancar
dan sukses. Kami juga menjual
kaus dan merchandise Noxa di
sana dan ternyata lumayan
banyak juga yang beli. Menurut
orang sana, kalau band kita
bagus dan mereka suka,
biasanya mereka akan membeli
merchandise yang kita bawa.
Wah berarti mereka suka
dengan Noxa.
Keesokan harinya pada 14 Juli
2010 pagi, kami berkemas
menuju Praha. Sampai Praha,
kami besama panitia berkemas
menuju tempat acara di »Rock
Club Kain " sebuah pub metal di
Praha zona 4. Noxa tampil
bersama beberapa band lain
yaitu band crust-grind asal
Belanda, Krush; band grindcore
asal Swedia, The Arson Project;
band grindcore asal Inggris
+Cek, Hovadah. Ada juga dua
band grindcore Prancis yang
juga tampil di Budejovice
bersama Noxa yaitu Xaros dan
Whoresnation.
Jumlah penonton yang hadir
memenuhi pub tersebut sekitar
150 orang. Di tempat tersebut,
tiap band juga diberi
kesempatan untuk menjual dan
melakukan transaksi jual-beli
merchandise. Acara berjalan
dengan sukses dan respons
penonton terhadap Noxa juga
sangat baik. Hal tersebut
terlihat dari penonton yang
melakukan mosh pit dari lagu
ke lagu.
Pada 15 Juli, Noxa kembali
melanjutkan perjalanan menuju
Trutnov yang jaraknya sekitar
150 kilometer atau 2,5 jam dari
Praha. Di Trutnov inilah acara
Obscene Extreme Festival 2010
berlangsung dengan total 66
band yang tampil selama tiga
hari dari 15 sampai 17 Juli 2010.
Jumlahh penonton mencapai
sekitar 30 ribu. Sementara band
yang tampil di antaranya DRI,
Misery Index, Incantation,
Doom, Cripple Bastard, General
Surgery, Cattle Decapitation,
Haemorrhage, Malignant
Tumour, Ingrowing, dan
Master.
Pada festival ini, 80 persen band
yang tampil adalah band
dengan segala jenis aliran
grindcore. Sisanya brutal death,
death metal, dan crust punk.
Pada hari itu, 15 Juli 2010, Noxa
main pada pukul 18.15. Pada
saat tampil, antusiasme
penonton sangat besar dilihat
dari penonton yang moshing
dan stage diving saat Noxa
tampil. Di akhir penampilan,
Noxa sempat membentangkan
bendera Merah Outih di
hadapan ribuan penonton yang
datang dari berbagai belahan
Eropa dan Amerika pada hari
itu.
Noxa selama tur di tiga titik
membawakan 14 lagu yang
diambil dari album pertama
Noxa: Wake Up And Stand Up,
Shitty People, Close Minded,
Against Humanity dan Ajeng.
Dan lagu dari album kedua
kami Grind Viruses antara lain :
Hancur, Dying Inside Out,
Sinetron Sucks, Grind Viruses,
Starvation, Lembata, Poligami,
dan Catastrophe.
Pada acara Obscene Extreme
Festival 2010, panitia juga
membuat CD berisi kompilasi
dari band-band yang tampil di
acara tersebut. CD ini diisii 38
band di antaranya Misery Index,
Doom, Cripple Bastard,
Haemorrhage, General Surgery.
Jumlah lagu dalam CD tersebut
sebanyak 45. CD kompilasi
Obscene Extreme Festival yang
diadakan tahun ini diberi nama
Silence Sucks! CD tersebut
dipersembahkan untuk Robin
Hutagaol (RIP) drummer
pertama Noxa, dan pada cover
OEF CD Compilation tersebut
juga ditampilkan foto Robin
Hutagaol (RIP).

Album Terbaik Radiohead

Album eksperimental
Radiohead, "OK Computer",
terpilih sebagai album terbaik
dalam sepermpat abad terakhir
oleh para penggemar musik.
Album yang dilepas pada 1997
dan memuat lagu-lagu seperti
"Paranoid Android" dan
"Karma Police" itu berhasil
menggusur Nirvana dan Oasis.
"OK Computer" menampilkan
bagaimana band yang berdiri di
Oxford pada 1985 itu
memainkan gaya prog-rock,
yang berbeda dari permainan
gitar rock mereka sebelumnya.
Band itu juga menggunakan
tanda-tanda sukat (time
signature) yang tak biasa,
termasuk pada lagu "Let Down"
ketika gitaris Jonny Greenwood
bermain dengan tanda-tanda
sukat berbeda.
Tiga album lain milik Radiohead
juga masuk dalam daftar 30
album terbaik, yakni "The
Bends", "Kid A", dan "In
Rainbows".
Pemilihan itu dilakukan para
pembaca majalah Q yang
diminta untuk menyebut album
terbaik yang dirilis dalam 25
tahun belakangan ini. Q adalah
majalah musik bulanan terbesar
di Inggris dengan sirkulasi,
menurut Press Gazette, sedikit
di bawah 100 ribu pada tahun
lalu.
"Kami pada hakikatnya memuji
album itu sebagai sebuah
adikarya, sebuah hal yang
langka," kata Pemimpin Redaksi
Q, Paul Rees, pada Rabu
(22/12).
Hasil jajak pendapat yang
memuat 250 album itu akan
diterbitkan dalam majalah Q
edisi Februari sekaligus
menandai ulang tahun ke-25
media tersebut.

Bandung Drums Day

Hari ini, Indonesian Drummer
menggelar acara Bandung
Drums Day di Sasana Budaya
Ganesha Institut Teknologi
Bandung, Jawa Barat.
Penampilan belasan penabuh
drum dari berbagai band itu
akan diramaikan "pertarungan"
antara drummer metal dan
punk.

Penggebuk drum yang bakal
tampil, antara lain, Gilang
Ramadhan, Hendy (Gigi), Sandy
dan Richard (Pas Band), dan
Akbar drummer berusia 12
tahun. Adapun battle punk vs
metal mengusung Sani (band
Jeruji), Rifky (Forgotten), Ozom
(Rocket Rockers), dan Andri
Rudal (eks Puppen).

Menurut ketua panitia acara
Ilham Febri alias Pepep,
drummer band ST 12, berbagai
genre musik yang dimainkan
antara lain jazz, rock, fusion,
punk, juga etnik lewat
penampilan kelompok
Saratuspersen. Adapun Gilang
Ramadhan, malam nanti akan
memainkan ritme sawah.

Olahannya selama 20 tahun itu
berasal dari musik-musik
tradisional se-Indonesia. "Saya
buat supaya bisa dipakai untuk
berbagai jenis musik," ujarnya.

Di sela pertunjukan, Indonesian
Drummer akan memberi
penghargaan bagi Kusnadi,
penulia buku tentang drum, dan
drummer senior Benny Mustafa.

Perhelatan aksi para drummer
itu akan didokumentasikan
sebagai bahan ajar bagi pemain
drum di seluruh Indonesia.

"Supaya tidak selalu mengacu ke
permainan drummer luar
negeri," kata Pepep.

Bohemian Rhapsody berasal dari
album Queen yang berjudul A
Night At The Opera yang
diproduseri Roy Thomas Baker
pada tahun 1975. Lagu ini
dikarang oleh Freddy Mercury

Rhapsody?
Kita tahu bahwa Freddy Mercury
pencipta Bohemian Rhapsody

Nada dasarnya cepat berubah.
Musiknya mempunyai struktur
chord yang susah dimainkan dan

pada lagu Bohemian Rhapsody.

Rhapsody sangat complicated,
dan menimbulkan banyak
perdebatan makna lagu. Banyak
yang mengatakan bahwa lagu ini
sulit dipahami dan cukup gelap.
Mengandung teka-teki yang sulit
dipecahkan, khususnya dalam
bagian operanya.
Konon dalam proses
pembuatannya Freddie tampak
begitu yakin dan mengetahui apa
yang harus dilakukannya,
sepertinya Bohemian Rhapsody
sudah lama ada di kepala
Freddie. Bahkan Ia telah
mencatat lirik lagunya di sebuah
buku notes tua milik ayahnya.
Beragam apresiasi dari penikmat
mengenai makna lagu itu sering
menjadi perdebatan
kontroversial sepanjang masa.
Suatu ketika dia menyebut nama
Allah dengan membaca
Bismillah, padahal disisi lain ia
memanggil nama Setan dengan
berteriak : Beelzebub.
Parade karakter dan
penggunaan frase-frase sejarah
aneh membuat penikmat
kebingungan dan „tersihir"
walau tanpa mengetahui
maknanya.. Berbagai „mantra"
digunakannya seperti :
Scaramouche, Galileo,
Beelzebub, Figaro, Mama Mia,
dan Magnifico. Secara etimologis
beberapa frase dan „mantra"
yang dilafalkannya mempunyai
arti sbb : Scaramouch berarti
seorang pengecut yang banyak
omong. Fandango berarti tarian.
Beelzebub merupakan nama
setan. Lalu apa arti Galileo,
Figaro, magnifico ? Saya cari
pada dictionary Galileo itukan
nama Astronom berasal dari
Italia penemu Telescope
bintang….??? Apa
hubungannya ? Lalu apa arti
Figaro dan magnifico ????
Pusing…!!!!!
Saat Bohemian Rhapsody dirilis
ke publik, banyak spekulasi yang
muncul tentang makna lagunya.
Orang percaya bahwa lirik itu
melukiskan tentang pelaksanaan
proses ekesekusi, yang diilhami
Novel Albert Camus, The
Stranger. Bahkan ada yang
meyakini bahwa lagu itu
mengisahkan tentang wajib
militer di Perang Vietnam.
Sedangkan disisi lain ada yang
percaya bahwa lirik itu diciptakan
hanya untuk mencocokkan
dengan musik yang diciptakan,
sehingga tidak memiliki makna
atau arti sama-sekali.
Brian May pernah mengatakan :
Setiap orang termasuk dirinya,
memiliki interpretasi masing-
masing terhadap maha karya
tersebut. Sehingga ia mengaku
sampai sekarang tidak mau
mengungkapkan secara terbuka
apa pandangannya terhadap
karya besar sahabatnya itu. Tidak
ada yang berani membicarakan
soal liriknya saat proses
pembuatannya karena Freddy
seperti sudah yakin dengan
penemuannya, kata May.
Freddy berbeda dengan personil
Queen lainnya yang senang
bercerita bagaimana proses
kreatif atau inspirasi sebuah lagu
ditulis. Freddy selalu mengelak
apabila ditanya tentang
bagaimana makna lagu
ciptaannya atau bagaimana
inspirasinya timbul. Freddy
sangat membenci terhadap
banyak analisa dalam materinya,
ia lebih menyukai dan memberi
kebebebasan kepada
penikmatnya untuk membangun
penafsiran mereka sendiri. Ia
mempersilahkan penikmat untuk
dapat merekontruksi cara
berpikirnya, kendati dia
mengatakan bahwa dia telah
melakukan sebuah riset untuk
itu semua termasuk sesi opera-
nya.
Proses perekaman Bohemian
Rhapsody dilakukan selama 3
(tiga) minggu, dimulai pada
tanggal 24 Agustus 1975 di
Rockfield Studio 1 dekat
Monmouth di Inggis. Untuk
menghasilkan maha karya
tersebut Queen menggunakan
berbagai alat musik seperti :
Fender Precision Electric Bass,
Red Special electric guitar,
Ludwig Drums, timpani dan
sebuah Paiste Gong. Freddy
sendiri menggunakan sebuah
Bechstein "Concert" Grand
Piano, yang digunakannya juga
saat promosi video dan konser
Tour Bohemian Rhapsody di UK .
Pembuatan koor pada lagu
Bohemian Rhapsody yang terdiri
dari 180 (note : ada yang
menyebut 120) vokal latar itu
direkam secara marathon di
mesin rekaman 24 trek dengan
vokal anggota Queen selama
satu minggu. Ini merupakan
salah satu unsur keunikan
Bohemian Rhapsody yang
memadukan berbagai unsur
musik klasik salah satunya yaitu
opera.
Para pengamat membagi
komposisi Bohemian Rhapsody
menjadi 6 bagian menarik :

pesimis bahwa single itu akan
bisa menjadi hit karena terlalu
panjang. Freddie sempat kecil
hati, tetapi suatu ketika ia meng-
copy single tersebut untuk
temannya seorang DJ radio di
London, Kenny Everet. Freddie
mengatakan pada Kenny, bahwa
lagu itu diberikan benar-benar
secara pribadi dan tak boleh
diputar di radio atau untuk
umum.
Tapi Kenny justru nekad
memutar lagu itu di radionya,
hingga empat belas kali dalam
hari yang sama. Sejak saat itu,
seluruh stasiun radio besar
memutar secara utuh lagu itu
dan, Bohemian Rhapsody
menjadi hit dan menggemparkan
Inggris pada masa itu, serta
menempati tangga nomer satu
selama sembilan minggu. Bahkan
hingga sekarang menjadi
Magnum Opus yang sangat
legendaries. Kemisteriusan
Magnum Opus Bohemian
Rhapsody menimbulkan banyak
perbedaan pendapat mengenai
maknanya, diantaranya adalah :

Bahwa Bohemian Rhapsody
adalah lagu yang menceritakan
seseorang yang akan dihukum
mati karena habis membunuh
seseorang. Ia menuliskan pesan
terakhirnya kepada ibunya untuk

kemudian membunuh seseorang

trigger,now his dead). Dan dia
harus mempertanggung-
jawabkan perbuatannya.
Kemudian dia meminta (atau
dimintakan?) pengampunan
karena alasan latar belakangnya
yang miskin. Bahwa hanya Tuhan
yang semestinya
menghukumnya, bukan
masyarakat. Dia kemudian
mencoba membantahnya bahwa
dia telah membunuh seseorang,
dengan istilah jalanannya :
"menari" (will you do a
fandango). Dan menanamkan
setan dalam dirinya sebagai
alasan lain (Beezelbub). Namun
nampaknya dia tidak
memperoleh kemudahan.
Bahkan timbul konflik batin,
karena bagaimanapun dia tidak
boleh lepas dari kenyataan (no
escape from reality) dan harus
mempertanggung-jawabkan
perbuatannya.

adalah lagu yang menceritakan
kenyataan atau ramalan
kehidupan Freddy Mercury.
Bahwa "just killed a man" dalam
lirik tersebut bisa diartikan
bahwa dia membunuh orang
lain, atau membunuh dirinya
sendiri. Ingat bahwa Freddy
seorang homoseksual yang pada
masa itu (era tahun 70-an) dapat
dihukum mati, atau ramalan
terhadap penyakitnya yang kelak
menyebabkan kematian

Album yang terdiri dari delapan
lagu, menyajikan kemahiran
kombinasi permainan gitar
antara Stevie Item (Andra & The
Backbone) dengan Coki
Bollemeyer (Netral). Distorsi
tertata apik dalam balutan
agresifitas ditambah pukulan
drum membabi buta dari
Andyan Gorust (ex-Siksa Kubur).
Belum usai, Bonsquad (ex-
Tengkorak) turut melengkapi
ritme bernuansa penuh amarah,
disambung growling dan
screaming Daniel (Abolish
Conceptional) lugas
menyampaikan beberapa tema
suramnya kehidupan.
Album Horror Vision merupakan
satu pencapaian Dead Squad
terhadap intuisi musik metal
yang telah dimulainya dalam
kancah gigs lokal Agustus 2006.
Bermodalkan pemain bertalenta,
saat itu Dead Squad hanya
menelurkan satu dua single
dalam jumlah terbatas.
Bersama 'Manufaktur Replika
Baptis' metalhead maniak diajak
menyelami downstroke dengan
gedoran drum yang
hyperblasting-grinding. Dead
Squad mengklaim single ini
dianggap mewakili karakter
album bertegangan tinggi.
Sebagai sebuah band metal,
Dead Squad juga sempat
mengalami beberapa kali
pergantian personil. The
founder, gitaris Ricky siahaan
mengundurkan diri lantaran
kesibukan kantornya yang
menyita waktu. Posisinya
digantikan Prisa (ex-Zala).
Namun dipertengahan jalan,
Prisa resmi cabut dari Dead
Squad. Keadaan pincang tidak
berlangsung lama. Oktober 2008
Dead Squad menemukan
Christopher Bollemeyer (Coki
Netral) sosok yang pas untuk
berduet bersama Stevie di sektor
gitar.
Influence band-band luar negeri
diakui sangat memberi warna
tersendiri dalam permainan
bermusik. Necrophagist, Visceral
Bleeding, Spawn of Possesion,
Disavowed, Decrepit Birth,
sampai dengan Nile turut serta
dalam perkembangan musik
Dead Squad.

Devildriver Rilis Album Baru

DevilDriver has issued the
following update about the
band's new album "Beast" and
upcoming tour dates:
"We have just confirmed a small
us/Canada run! Cancer Bats
have been confirmed for support
for this as well which are really
fuckin stoked about! We are
going to get to some markets
that we have never been to
before up there so we look
forward some new experience.
The new album is totally finished
and mixed. I am 100% confident
in 'Beast.' We have chose the
track 'Dead To Rights' as the
single and we are planning a
video shoot for sometime in late
December.
"We are looking at an old friend
to get get behind the camera for
this one but we shall see if it
works out. Australia is also on
the horizon for Devildriver,
probably the most excited I have
been in a while for tour. Too
many great bands and old
friends to count. Soundwave is
officially the deadliest tour of

American metalcore act Haste
The Day has announced its
decision to disband. The group
has posted the following
statement:
"This is a very difficult
announcement to make, but
Haste The Day will be doing its
final tour February – March
2011. It has been an incredible
10 years and we want to thank
all of our amazing fans who
have stuck with us through all of
our changes and growth as a
band. If it weren 't for all of you,
this band would have been
nothing.
"There are many reasons why
HTD is ending, however we
mainly feel as though we have
created the best music we can
and believe it is now time for us
to move on to the next stage of
our lives. I remember when this
band started a decade ago, we
wanted to be like the Solid
State/Tooth and Nail Records
bands we grew up idolizing.
"We wanted to use our passion
for heavy music and the love
that God put in us to be a light
in the underground scene;
letting people know they are
loved, important, forgiven no
matter what, and capable of
using their gifts to serve their
fellow man. I never imagined
that we would be able to put
out five full length albums, tour
the world, and develop so many
meaningful relationships with the
people who came to our shows.
Without your support, this
wouldn 't have been possible.
"The 12 Days of Christmas will
be in cities that we will not hit on
our final tour so please come
out to say goodbye this
December. For our final tour,
which will also be amazing, we
are bringing our friends in My
Children My Bride, The Chariot,
and A Plea for Purging along for
our Farewell Tour all across the
US and Canada.

Ia menuntut Activision selaku

Rose menganggap kehadiran
mantan gitaris Guns N' Roses
telah menyalahi kesepakatan
bersama. Dalam laporan yang
dilansir The Hollywood reporter
menyebutkan bahwa isi
perjanjian yang dimaksud sama
sekali tak menyinggung untuk
menampilkan sang mantan
gitaris Guns N' Roses tersebut,
ataupun salah satu personel
Velvet Revolver yang kini
digawangi oleh Slash.
"Activision tidak hanya
melakukan pelanggaran dengan
menampilkan sosok Slash (band
Velver Revolver) dalam Guitar

Roadrunner Records, one of the
industry's longest running metal
and hard rock labels, has now
been fully purchased by Warner
Music Group. Warner had
previously bought 73.5% of the
company in 2007. An internal
memo from label founder and
CEO Cees Wessels announcing
the changes, as appearing on
Billboard's website, can be read
below:
"Since joining the Warner Music
family, we have enjoyed some of
our greatest creative and
commercial successes as a label.
Most importantly, we have
retained our unique identity
while also expanding our
horizons, thanks in part to the
tremendous expertise and
experience we can tap into as
part of the Warner Music family
and the relationships we have
built with our Warner Music
colleagues around the world.
"I am very proud that
Roadrunner is now a fully-
fledged stable mate of such
iconic labels as Atlantic , Warner
Bros. Records, Elektra, Asylum
and Rhino, and I believe that we
are in this position thanks to our
team 's hard work and
consistently original approach
over the years. The vast majority
of our staff around the world
will experience little or no
change to their roles.

Jorg michael drummer Stratovarius terdiagnosa kanker

Stratovarius keyboardist Jens
Johansson has posted the
following statement online:
"Dear STRATOVARIUS fans, I am
afraid we have some quite
terrible news. News of the worst
imaginable kind. It's about our
friend and drummer Jörg
Michael.
"Jörg has cancer.
"He recently discovered a lump
on his neck, went to the doctor,
they decided to operate, and
found what they call 'a
malignant thyroid neoplasm.'
They took out his whole thyroid
just to have the best chance to
get everything out. He will also
have to undergo a regimen of
radiotherapy.
"He is a fighter. We have all
talked to him and it's clear that
this guy is not down for the
count. He and his team of
German doctors are pissed off
and ready to kick ass, and I
would not want to be a little
cancer cell on these guys' shit
list.. believe me.
"Jörg and his family (and us guys
in the band) found this out only
last week, after the operation.
Naturally we are all going
between a lot of emotions,
sadness, worry, shock, confusion,
even anger.
"As for STRATOVARIUS, as you
perhaps know, there is a long
tour coming up with
HELLOWEEN, and with the
surgery and therapy that will
now follow there is no way Jörg
can do the first part of the tour.
For me personally, I at first felt
quite hopeless about the tour,
because I was so upset about all
this news. But Jörg himself has
been extremely clear that he
does not want the band to
cancel a single show because of
this. In the end, this is what
made at least me feel better
about going back hitting the
road next week.
"So, we have debated what to
do for many days now. Jörg first
suggested my brother Anders to
do this November-December
2010 leg, but it turns out Anders
will, unfortunately, be busy
recording some record or other
with that little indie cellar band
of his called HAMMERFALL. :o)
"After a lot of searching, we
found a guy that both can do it
and didn't have other
commitments: Alex Landenburg.
He plays well, Jörg says he is a
great guy (very important!) and
he even started learning the set
already before we even had
decided what to do, which to me
shows a lot of dedication. You
can Google Alex's name if you
are curious.
"So it turns out that
STRATOVARIUS will do the first
leg of the HELLOWEEN '7
Sinners' tour, just as planned,
only not with Jörg behind the kit,
but with Jörg very much as a
motivator to us being there. Not
one single date will be cancelled
or changed.
"Jörg wants to be back on the
road with us again as soon as
possible depending on the
thearapy, but we are not making
any promises; that one is up to
powers even higher than Jörg
Michael and his doctors.
"We will try to keep you
somewhat updated.
"Anyway, the most important
thing is that they think they got
all the bad stuff out and that the
end result is that we just fix that
sentence I wrote above. We will
then say: Jörg had cancer. But he
beat it."

Mantan pacar Hendrix, Kathy
Etchinham, yang menjalin

British Capital setahun sebelum
kematiannya berkat :
"Jimi sangat mencintai gitar itu,

Ulrich berpikir bahwa gaya
hidupnya sedikit 'terlalu sehat'
untuk seukuran bintang rock.
Lars yang berusia 46 tahun itu,
mengatakan ia tidak bisa hidup
dengan pola gaya hidup rock 'n'
roll seperti di masa kejayaan
pada 1980-an. Sekarang Lars
lebih banyak makan makanan
protein dan makanan sehat
lainnya.
"Rutinitas saya sehari-hari adalah
membuat orak-arik putih telur
untuk sarapan, bermain Solitaire
di iPad saya dan menonton film,"
ungkap Lars pada The
