Arch Enemy Dengan Vokalis Baru

Indonesia Concerts, Jakarta - Berita yang sangat mengejutkan datang dari band Arch Enemy. Vokalis yang turut membesarkan nama mereka, Angela Gossow secara resmi telah meninggalkan band. Seiring dengan pernyataan yang mengumumkan mundurnya Angela Gossow tersebut, Arch Enemy juga telah mengumumkan vokalis baru yaitu Alissa White- Gluz.

Sebelumnya, Angela Gossow juga mengambil alih posisi vokalis Arch Enemy dari vokalis asli mereka yaitu Johan Liiva pada tahun 2000. Semenjak saat itu, Ia menjadi perintis yang membawa Arch Enemy ke tingkat keberhasilan yang belum pernah mereka alami. Dengan kepergian Angela Gossow dari Arch Enemy, vokalis baru Alissa White- Gluz juga dikabarkan telah berpisah dengan The Agonist untuk dapat lebih fokus pada Arch Enemy. Alissa White- Gluz akan ikut dalam pembuatan album baru Arch Enemy mendatang yang bertajuk "War Eternal War", yang dikabarkan akan rilis pada bulan Juni mendatang.

"Untuk para penggemar Arch Enemy, tidak mudah untuk menyampaikan hal ini. Aku telah memutuskan untuk mengundurkan diri dari posisi vokalis Arch Enemy. Setelah 13 tahun, 6 album studio dan wisata ke lima benua, aku merasa perlu untuk memasuki fase yang berbeda dalam hidupku, dengan keluargaku dan mengejar kepentingan lain. Namun aku akan tetap menjadi manajer bisnis untuk Arch Enemy, dan akan terus mengembangkan manajemen artis milikku," ujar Alissa Gossow dalam statement resmi Arch Enemy.

"Aku tetap setia kepada heavy metal. AKu hanya akan meninggalkan sorotan. Aku memberikan obor kepada Alissa White-Gluz, yang telah aku kenal sebagai seorang teman dan vokalis yang luar biasa selama bertahun-tahun. Tidak ada band metal modern yg dapat
mengklaim telah membuat dampak yg signifikan di kancah global seperti
yg dilakukan Lamb of God. Sejak album death grinder Burn the Priest,
mereka secara konsisten telah merilis
album-album hits, dan terus-menerus
meningkatkan karya mereka sampai setelah
"Sakrament"(2006) hingga saat ini hingga level heavy beat.

Coba dengar jg 'Wrath' (2009), banyak yg memandang sebelah mata
kemampuan band ini dan mengatakan bahwa Wrath sebagai
usaha terbaik mereka sampai saat ini.
Orang akan segera menelan kata-kata mereka sendiri setelah mendengar
album RESOLUTION.

Lihat saja pd lagu "Straight for the Sun', sebuah alur yg besar,
raksasa, alur yang
menarik kita dengan
terengah-engah, diisi dg intensitas, dan gemuruh dan riff yg langsung
menusuk. Ini tentu sebuah hal yg mengejutkan dan tak dapat disangkal
efek
'menghancurkannya' terlepas dari itu kita
dibawa kembali untuk akrab dg ciri khas mereka pd lagu 'Desolation' dan
'Ghost walking' yg
memberi kita rasa pukulan, berderak
bersama dengan semua
tumpukan
riffage dan paduan sound yg memang telah menjadi wilayah 'kedaulatan mereka'

Memang, apa yang telah
menjadi spesialisasi dari
band ini, lagu yang
mungkin berisi sedikit melodi masih belum
benar-benar terdengar penuh dan terasa lebih kasar daripada yang
pernah ada di sini. Dalam reffrain seperti
the venomous "I am the one who's left to take the fall" In the Pacey
number 'The undertow, akan terdengar lebih mirip chorus dari lagu-lagu
Killswitch Engage manapun yg bisa anda sebutkan.

Tidak perlu waktu lama
lama untuk menyadari bahwa Randy
Blythe telah melampaui performanya yg lebih gahar dan tentu saja lebih
menonjol dari jalur 'Resolution'.
Kita bisa dengar dari 'Visitation' atau
'Terminall unique', pada kedua lagu tersebut
ia terdengar seolah-olah
sedang meludah darah.

Perhatian khusus juga harus diberikan kepada
'King me', yang terbukti menjadi lagu yg paling ambisius.
Dimulai dengan beberapa kata dari reffrain yang diucapkan dg slow
(Penuh dengan beberapa opera vokal yg halus), lagu mendadak meledak
menjadi
besar, diiringi bagian string yg seolah membawa kita mengalir diantara
batere 'south guitar' yg terbakar
dan beranjak ke bagian instrumen yang didominasi oleh melodi Soulful
choir. Ini dibuat
untuk memberi kesan angker sementara kita mendengarkan,
Randy menjerit pd nada tinggi digabungkan
dengan harmoni yang megah dan menghancurkan menghasilkan sound luar biasa.

'Resolution' sepertinya menjelma menjadi puncak atas permainan Lamb Of God.
Sebagai Band, mereka
membuktikan bahwa mereka tidak pernah meriilis album yg mengecewakan,
dan keinginan untuk
bereksperimen terlunasi dg cara-cara yang tanpa kompromi dalam
mengasah kemampuan mereka.

RESOLUTION : Memuaskan penggemar fanatik dengan menambah racikan
aransemen yang berpotensi untuk menjerat penggemar baru.

guitarist Ol Drake on his
band's contribution: "So the
cat is out of the bag; EVILE
have covered 'Lounge Act' by
NIRVANA for Kerrang!'s
upcoming anniversary issue of
the 'Nevermind' album.
"When we got the offer, all I
could see was fun to be had,
and what an honor it was to
be included. I was a big fan of
Nirvana when I was a young
teen, so it's an extra honor in
that way for me.
"I wondered what we could do
to the track to make it our
own, so we approached it like
we would one of our own
songs. That bass riff is brilliant
and I wanted to make it more
a core element of the track
guitar-wise and just metal it
up in general. I wanted to
respect the approach of the
song but also alter Kurt's
[Cobain] chord approach to a
style more suited to EVILE,
and that's a chug-athon!
"Hope you all enjoy it; we
definitely do."

SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR
frontman Corey Taylor had
the following to say about
what "Nevermind" means to
him: "I was a huge fan of
NIRVANA. I remember playing
'Bleach' for my friends and
telling them they were going
to be massive. When
'Nevermind' was on the verge
of dropping, I made all my
friends go out and buy it.
Never knew it would be that
big, but they deserved it.
"No pun intended, but never
mind the singles — the album
is deep as hell. From 'Lounge
Act' to 'Territorial Pissings' it
is the perfect blend of punk,
college, rock and pop. To this
day, one of the best albums of
all time."

ARVEN have inked a deal with
Massacre Records. The band's
debut album, "Music Of
Light", will be released on
September 23. The 10-song CD
features artwork by Jan
Yrlund (KORPIKLAANI,
STRATOVARIUS, SIRENIA).
According to a press release,
the members of ARVEN are
"professionally educated
musicians [who] share one
important attitude: a strong
passion for melodic metal. A
metal band with five females
up front, the only male
influence is restricted to the
drums.
"Carina Hanselmann's
nightingale-like vocals are the
priority for this band, giving
ARVEN its unique sound.
"All in all, the sound appears
powerful and dynamic, filled
with all kinds of dreamy and
catchy melodies. Heavy guitar
riffs, accompanied by a
double-bass thunderstorm and
groovy parts are combined
with both orchestral and
medieval instruments."

Trivium Bicara Soal Album Barunya

Florida metallers TRIVIUM are
putting the finishing touches
on their new album at
Audiohammer Studios in
Sanford, Florida with the
production/mixing team of
Colin Richardson (MACHINE
HEAD, BULLET FOR MY
VALENTINE, SLIPKNOT, FEAR
FACTORY) and Martin "Ginge"
Ford. The follow-up to 2008's
"Shogun"will be mixed in
England later this spring got a
summer release via
Roadrunner Records.

Beaulieu can be viewed below.
In a July 2010 interview with
the WMHB 89.7 FM metal
radio show "Metal
Mutilation", Beaulieu stated
about the band's new
material, "We've been
concentrating more on
[making] more to-the-point,
catchier songs without going
off too much — there's no
seven- or eight-minute songs
on this one. There's a lot of
really cool riffs and a lot of
really cool parts, and,
obviously, there's guitar solos
all over the place. It doesn't
sound like 'Shogun', but it
sounds like TRIVIUM. It's a got
a different feel than 'Shogun'
— it's a lot more in your face
and heavier and faster. It kind
of balances out everything —
we've got four or five songs
that are all screaming, we've
got a couple of songs that are
all singing, and huge songs
that are kind of a mix — kind
of 'Acendancy' [2005] kind of
vocal style, [with both]
screaming and singing, so
there's a good variety, which
makes it really interesting to
listen to, because each song
has its own thing going on, so
they all stand out really well
and fit together, too. It's got a
good balance of everything,
but the energy and the
intensity is just a lot more up
there. I guess if you compare
it to anything as far as being
aggressive, it's probably more
towards 'Ascendancy' than
anything else."

semenjak itu. Band ini mulai
rekaman pada bulan Januari
dengan diproduseri John
Shanks.

Album terakhir Van Halen
ialah "Van Halen III", dirilis
tahun 1998 dan menampilkan
performa dari vokalis extreme
Gary Cherone sebagai vokalis
utama.

DevilDriver has issued the
following update about the
band's new album "Beast" and
upcoming tour dates:
"We have just confirmed a small
us/Canada run! Cancer Bats
have been confirmed for support
for this as well which are really
fuckin stoked about! We are
going to get to some markets
that we have never been to
before up there so we look
forward some new experience.
The new album is totally finished
and mixed. I am 100% confident
in 'Beast.' We have chose the
track 'Dead To Rights' as the
single and we are planning a
video shoot for sometime in late
December.
"We are looking at an old friend
to get get behind the camera for
this one but we shall see if it
works out. Australia is also on
the horizon for Devildriver,
probably the most excited I have
been in a while for tour. Too
many great bands and old
friends to count. Soundwave is
officially the deadliest tour of

gatefold double heavyweight
